Shannon K is a 16 year old singer who was born in India and moved to London at the age of 6, but not before initially appearing on stage at just 4. Her father, Kumar Sanu, is simply one of the most decorated and award winning vocalists in Bollywood history. He has sung in over a 100 Bollywood films and has won 5 Filmfare Awards. Kumar was featured in the Guinness Book of World Record in 1993 for recording 8 songs in a single day. It comes as no surprise that Shannon K inherited her many talents from her accomplished father.
Shannon has created her own spotlight. With music in her soul, it is only natural it would be core to her future passion. Shannon has studied music from Royal School of Music, London. At the age of 6, she had the honor to perform a classical Indian dance, Kathak, that she learned growing up at the Bollywood Awards’ night, US. She released her first solo song in May 2014. Shannon has just released an album on May 5th, 2017 labeled Perpetual, which is available on iTunes. She has also recently been labeled as Voice of the Month by B4U UK. Her poignant lyrics (listen to ‘Roll Back the Years’, penned about the separation of a school friends’ parents), coupled with Shannon’s musical literacy encompassing UK/US pop with a dash of Bollywood glamour is an irresistible combination. Shannon K is 16 years young and has created quite the name for herself.
