Grown In Music – JAZZY J

Hailing from the cityscapes of the true north of Toronto, multifaceted Canadian Artist/Producer Jazzy J (AKA Jazzy Gaza J) that specializes in a vast array of genres such as Rap, Reggae, Trap, Hip Hop, Classical, Chill Trip, Afrobeat, Reggaeton, and EDM began hitting the ground running with his music career around 2011 with an insatiable vision of high standard prospects for a successful future.

Before this time, Jazzy J was originally called Touch Road, stemming from his mantra as a young child that would be willing to do anything for or with his closest ride-or-die friends, paying homage to his motto and morals of family over everything. Though Jazzy J has grown up in Toronto throughout his life, he also spent a long time living in the Caribbean (Barbados and Jamaica) in his life, which is what he currently calls home.

He was part of the winning production team for the 2016 CropOver Bashment Sound and recently graduated from Durham College In Oshawa Ontario for the Music Business Administration course. 2 years ago, Jazzy J also opened the doors with his own record label, JJ Records. And since that time, has worked with such artists as: Jin Brown, Vybz Kartel, Blak Ryno, Shawn Storm, Curtisay, Stiffy, Jah Reddis, Freddie McGregor, Blacka Da Don, and several other Urban artists.

As a performer, Jazzy J has had opportunities to grace the stage at Gaza artist shows like Street Vybz Thursdays, Weddy Weddy Wednesday, and also scored an opening slot for industry heavyweight Tory Lanes in Toronto.

In 2012, Jazzy J hit the studio and dropped his song “Gangsta Way”, which ended up being garnered with critical acclaim as a song for the Gaza Family, making his name more known in the Caribbean as well as the Southern States. Currently, he is planning to release some Riddim Albums to showcase his Production skills to the music industry even more, as well as giving artists the chance to give their fans some high quality production value through Jazzy J’s skills, and popular name altogether.

Most recently, Jazzy J has been working with Grammy-nominated artist Curtisay on some projects slated for release this upcoming December, as well as some mix tapes coming soon from Jazzy and Jin Brown, whom both belong to the Record Label “Flex Boyz Entertainment” comprised of Toronto and southern states artists and producers collectively.
